Garden Discovery

Working up a new bed in my Garden yesterday these two items tumbled out of the soil. They appeared to be old potatoes. They are truffles; an Elaphomyces granulatus I believe, or common name a Deer Truffle which were fun to find but non edible.
.

Elaphomyces granulatus has a tough outer rind that is not marbled in
cross-section like that of
Elaphomyces muricatus. When mature, the
interior of Elaphomyces is full of black spore powder. They can resemble
Scleroderma cepa, but lack the prominent sterile base.
